Fashion's Evolving Future

Jun 12, 2023

Is our industry genuinely progressing? It's a query that's nestled in my thoughts over the past few years, as I've witnessed an ebb and flow of trends, with only a handful of technologies managing to anchor themselves into the landscape, effectively enhancing disparate elements of the supply chain.

Buzzwords like 'sustainability' continue to swirl around us, emphasizing the need to lessen our industry's footprint. Wearing the hat of a former brand owner and presently serving as a co-founder of the non-profit organization Drip by Drip, I have experienced firsthand the tumultuous nature of this industry and its profound impact on individuals' lives.

Yes the industry is changing but only slowly towards a more digital approach in almost every step of the supply chain. We can expect a multitude of trends, technology, and sustainability to transform the industry in ways we could never have imagined. As fashion continues to evolve, it is crucial that businesses adopt new practices and workflows to minimize costs and harmful impact while still creating innovative and exciting products.

What Can We Expect in Terms of Technology?

With all the cool new tech, the way clothes are designed, made and produced is gonna change in a big way. By leveraging technology, the industry can improve processes and create new solutions that reduce waste, minimize the use of resources, and help create a circular economy.

We are part of a huge wave along with other innovative tools, which gonna make the industry more transparent, open to everyone and cost effective.

I've developed this database for Digital Fashion Tools in order to showcase both emerging and established participants in this domain.

Feel free to reach out to me for other tools so I can add them to the list.
